Startup India Certificate
Overview
DPIIT recognition under the Startup India initiative is the credential that opens the scheme's benefits. It is available to an eligible private limited company, LLP or registered partnership within the age and turnover limits, working on innovation, improvement or a scalable model.
Recognition is what makes the rest possible: eligibility to apply for the income-tax exemptions available under the scheme, self-certification under specified labour and environment laws for an initial period, relaxations in public procurement that are otherwise closed to new businesses, and faster IPR processes. It is also widely understood by investors, incubators and government programmes as a baseline check.
The application turns on how the innovation and scalability are actually described — the same business can read as eligible or ineligible depending on how it is written up. We prepare the application and the supporting material, and can take you on to the tax exemption afterwards, which is a separate approval with its own conditions.
